Bristol Wedding Videographer in Oxford: Erin and Nick’s First Dance

Whoever’s duty it was to order the weather for Erin and Nick’s Wedding did a rather good job of it. It was raining all day on Thursday and not great on Saturday but Friday was amazing. Erin and Nick married at Christ Church Cathedral, Oxford and later had their reception at Lady Margaret Hall. There were a lot of challenges to video – Erin’s dad and sisters would be singing, there were special organ arrangements (from the Little Mermaid!), the speeches and the overwhelming majesty of the church and reception venues as well as an identical twin best man (sorry for mistaking you Nick!). To top it all off though, Erin and Nick are ballroom dance partners and were sure to be moving quick in low light where my 50mm lens would have a depth of field around 20cm!

Thankfully help was at hand from Shaun and Martin who assisted with a second camera and some video lights. Major props guys!

It seemed like the end of the day was the best place to start so without further ado here’s Erin and Nick’s first dance.

This was an absolute joy to edit – although you can find yourself sitting for hours listening to the same noises being played over and over again when editing a video, in this case the noises were just fabulous and were being produced by Down for the Count who are pretty much the best wedding band I think I’ve ever heard. I can’t recommend these guys enough!

Look out for the photos (the above is just a still from the wedding video) from the amazingly talented Elliot Patching in the near future and of course the full trailer from Erin + Nick’s day coming soon.
